African cities face numerous difficulties that seriously complicate the quality of their essential infrastructure:

  • Strong population growth
  • Concentration of it in cities
  • Climate disruption and increased frequency of extreme phenomena
  • Low electrification rate, especially in rural areas
  • Aging of installed equipment, often broken down, and very energy consuming
  • Technological obsolescence
  • Lack of regular maintenance
  • Lack of own financial resources
  • Difficulties in deciding between the investments to be made, all of which are urgent and priority
